These are a meticulously realised collection of folk songs delicately crafted by Edgar Hurley and friends that touch on collective personal tales and social commentaries on the complexities and the sometimes horrifying realities of living with a chronic illness, depression, poverty, social oppression and constantly regulated and scrutinised sexuality, to wrestling with their own liberations and freedoms from the chains of societal expectations, and how to survive in a dangerous and visceral world that has built its systems to keep people like Edgar - a non-binary, non-conforming, queer writer, creative and sex worker - down and out.
